BELMAR IS THE FIRST HOTEL IN MONTEVERDE AND SECOND COUNTRY TO BE CARBON NEUTRAL
For the third consecutive year, Hotel Belmar and the Finca Mother Earth , are awarded the certification of carbon neutrality issued by Inteco . Belmar is the first hotel in Monteverde in having the title, and the second in the country, while the House is the first comprehensive farm in Costa Rica to receive certification.
These certifications are the result of extensive efforts that the Hotel and Mother Earth have done for many years to mitigate emissions of greenhouse gases and reduce their carbon footprint on the planet.
“We are in times where efforts to reduce and mitigate carbon emissions have gained prime importance in the world, and it is very remarkable that, according to our vision as a company, have been pioneers in this field. Similarly be making further efforts this year and next in the fight against climate change, “emphasizes Peter Belmar, general manager of Hotel Belmar.
Some of the sustainable practices that make this possible certification are the efficient management of resources , carbon offsetting actions, including the use of alternative energy and programs of reforestation . In addition to participating in community projects that inspire environmental responsibility.
